Dick Whittington

Palace Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue 1956

Starring George Formby as Idle Jack.

This was the return to the Palace where, in 1951, he had starred in 'Zip Goes a Million' for Emile Littler, but after six months relinquished his role to Reg Dixon due to ill health. George Formby, famous for his catch phrase 'Turned out nice again!' was at one time the highest paid British Star, an international star of stage and screen, he was even awarded the 'Order of Lenin' for his popularity on the silver screen in Russia!
