Cartoon from Punch
This cartoon, appearing April 25, 1845, was drawn by John Leech. Scotland and England are criticized for their treatment of Ireland.
John Leech (1817-64) was Chief cartoonist for Punch from 1841 to 1861, contributing about 3,000 drawings. Also drew or etched for some fifty books, the most widely known being Charles Dickens' Christmas Carol.
